Alexander-Arnold has been absent since sustaining an ankle injury in Liverpool's Champions League round-of-16 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in March. Reds manager Arne Slot had earlier claimed that he expects the full-back to return to the pitch before the end of the 2024-25 campaign. On Wednesday, the England international re-joined the club's session ahead of their Premier League clash against Leicester City on Sunday.

While Alexander-Arnold is slowly recovering from his injury, uncertainty looms over the player's future at Anfield beyond the current season as he has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer. The 26-year-old's contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 campaign and he is unlikely to extend his stay at his boyhood club.
