Alexander-Arnold has been Real Madrid's biggest target after Kylian Mbappe over the last few years as Los Blancos look to build their new throng of Galacticos. However, the signing of the England international has passed them by over the years as Liverpool have been against his sale.

Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this January with Los Blancos keen on tying down a deal despite being able to join as a free agent in the summer, however, the right-back wants to stay at Anfield this season. The 26-year-old has now struck a verbal agreement with Carlo Ancelotti's side as per Marca but it remains unclear whether the agreement means the deal will go through this month.
