CricInfo23-Oct-2001Former England Test batsman, Raman Subba Row, has been appointed matchreferee for the three-match Test series between Sri Lanka and West Indiesand for the triangular tournament that follows, ICC communications manager,Mark Harrison, confirmed today.Subba Row, 69, was also match referee during Sri Lanka’s three match Testtour of South Africa in 2000-2001 and has so far officiated in 43 Tests and112 ODIs.Another Englishman, former Yorkshire and England batsman, John Hampshire,will stand in as the neutral umpire in the first and the second Tests.Zimbabwean Russell Tiffin will stand in the final match series.Meanwhile, Director of Umpiring for the BCCSL, K.T. Francis, says the localumpires for the Test and the triangular series will be finalised onThursday.
